Attorney Travis Salmon has over two decades of experience successfully resolving disputes and generally solving legal and business problems for small companies and individuals, as well as some of the largest corporations in the country.  Throughout his career, Travis has represented plaintiffs and defendants in legal disputes which gives him the ability and perspective to see all sides of the issues to develop and implement winning strategies.

Travis was a partner at one of the largest law firms in the country before choosing to leave to devote his time to working with smaller corporate clients and individuals.  Travis has been selected since 2016 as a “Super Lawyer,” as published in the Missouri Super Lawyers magazine, meaning he is a “top-rated attorney as recognized by his peers” that only 5% of practicing attorneys receive based on an extensive peer review and evaluation process. Earlier in his career, he was listed as an “Up and Coming Lawyer” by Missouri Lawyers Weekly and as a “Missouri & Kansas Rising Star” multiple years.

In addition to successfully representing thousands of clients throughout his career, Travis has spent considerable time volunteering and offering “pro bono” services to those in need.  For example, he has been awarded “Best Volunteer” by the Arthritis Foundation for his volunteer work with the Arthritis Foundation’s Western Missouri/Greater Kansas City Chapter.  In 2018, he was recognized at the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation’s “16th Annual Liberty & Justice Gala” with a special video for his pro bono work on behalf of a retired U.S. veteran and his wife.  Prior to his legal career, Travis was awarded the American Heart Association’s “Heartsaver Award” (awarded for performing a courageous act in an effort to save a life), as well as the American Red Cross "Certificate of Merit" (American Red Cross' highest award for "selfless and humane action in saving a life").

Travis has actively served in various leadership positions, both inside and outside the legal community, including: Chair of KCMBA’s Business Tort/Antitrust/Franchise Committee, Member of the American Agricultural Law Association, Special Olympics Kansas Board Member, Board Member of the Arthritis Foundation (Heartland Region), Arthritis Foundation’s Patient Leadership Council, University of Missouri-Kansas City College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Board Member, Vice-Chair of the Missouri Bar’s Sports and Entertainment Committee, and several other organizations.

Travis grew up on a cattle farm in rural Missouri where he learned the value of hard work and integrity.  He received a Division I athletic scholarship to play for the UMKC Kangaroos Men’s Basketball team where he was a three-year starter and was honored as UMKC’s first-ever Academic All-American student athlete.  Travis spent two years as a police officer in Olathe, KS, before starting his legal career.

When Travis isn’t practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his family, coaching his kids’ athletic teams, fishing, traveling, and cheering for the Super Bowl LIV champion Kansas City Chiefs.
